
Shirland Welfare Band are very pleased to announce that they have had a fabulous day out at the LBBA Brass competition in Leicestershire.
At the long overdue first competition since the Covid epidemic, the young players in the band achieved the following results:
Slow Melody (13/14/15 Yrs) – 1st place – Joss
Slow Melody (16/17/18 Yrs) – 1st place – Leonie
Slow Melody (16/17/18 Yrs) – 2nd place – Izzy
Sight Reading (15 & under) – 1st place – Joss
Sight Reading (16/17/18) – 1st place – Izzy
Air Varie (15/16/17/18) – 1st place – Joss
Air Varie (15/16/17/18) – 3rd place – Izzy
Duets (18 & under) – 1st place – Jack & Izzy

– 1st place – Joss/Jack/Léonnie/Emily

– 2nd place – Joss/Jack/Léonnie/Izzy
Mixed Duets (Teacher & Student)
– 1st Place – Joss & Lynden
– 2nd Place – Luke + Izzy
Joss = Overall Junior champion!
This carries on a long tradition of success over the years at the LBBA solo and quartet contest and it is great to see the competition back up and running so a massive thank you to all of the organisers and participants.
