It was a clean sweep for Shirland when they took part in the new Bold as Brass competition held at the National Coal Mining Museum for England near Wakefield.
In this new contest, organised by Brassed Bands England, Shirland took the prizes for Most Entertaining Performance, Best Musical Performance, Best March Presentation and Best Solo or Group Feature making them the overall Champion Band for the day.
Carrying on with our tried and tested “Band on Holiday” motif the audience were treated to a veritable fish platter of maritime meandering.
From Rainbow Pier to just Under the Boardwalk after a brief Seaside Rendezvous with Mr Sandman.
